John Paulson is the President and Portfolio Manager of Paulson Capital Inc. (“Paulson”), a private investment and trading company he founded in 1994. Headquartered in Palm Beach, Florida, Paulson has received numerous industry awards and accolades over its 30-year history, including Absolute Return awards for Management Firm of the Year, Best Arbitrage Fund, and Best Event Driven Fund. Mr. Paulson also serves as Chairman of publicly traded Bausch Health Companies and Acadian Asset Management, as well as several other private companies.
Mr. Paulson holds a B.A. in Finance, summa cum laude, from New York University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He is also widely recognized for his philanthropy, including a $400 million gift to Harvard University, which renamed its engineering school the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and a $100 million gift to New York University supporting the John A. Paulson Center.
