
Dr. Emre Tekoglu brings deep expertise in advanced manufacturing of high-performance metallic materials for nuclear, aerospace, and extreme-environment applications. His work spans laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), electron beam melting, superalloy and refractory alloy systems, metal-matrix composites, alloy design, process optimization, and qualification-oriented manufacturing workflows.
He served as Technical Project Lead for the MIT–Framatome LPBF Validation Project, where he led high-throughput additive manufacturing validation efforts integrating in-situ monitoring, automated characterization, and physics-informed machine learning workflows. He also held postdoctoral research appointments at MIT and North Carolina State University, working on advanced manufacturing and alloy development programs supported by ARPA-E, the MIT Energy Initiative, the Office of Naval Research, and industry partners.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Tekoglu worked as an Additive Manufacturing Technologies Researcher at GE Aviation, contributing to LPBF process optimization and qualification-oriented development for aviation applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
